Box.net updated their iOS applications for iPad and iPhone earlier this week. As part of the upgrade they are enticing iOS users with a free 50GB of storage for life for installing/updating the app. The offer is running through February the 15th.
Even if you already have a Box account, you can get the 50GB allotment for simply downloading the Box 3.0 update. If you already have an account, simply logging out and back in will get you the 50GB allotment. That level of storage is more than 5 times the amount you get on the standard Box plan. I swear by cloud back ups and if you have a ton of photos or documents you don’t use regularly and want to free up some hard disk space, this would be a great place to archive them. Other cloud services offer far less storage amounts. Google Drive gives users 15GB, Microsoft SkyDrive starts at 7GB and Dropbox is an insulting 2GB.
I am not sure if they will be extending this same offer to android users in the future but if you have an iOS device you can get the update here.
