The 2016 election cycle is over and frankly, America, you fucked up. I can’t mince words about it. I wrote about what I think needs to change as far as our election system last week and I am reposting them below with one addition. Get rid of the Electoral College. I am sorry, some dude in bumble-fuck Wyoming just doesn’t count. Liberals naturally congregate to cities where there is diversity and exchange of ideas, perspectives, and experiences. People who choose to isolate themselves and their minds should not impact those that try and make this world a better place. I plan to respond to this election by using something I am good at, technology. I have faith that it can ultimately bring people together and stop the anti-progressive elements of society.

The 2016 election cycle is almost over and with that we all hope to take a collective sigh of relief. What comes after, one ca n only wonder. Regardless, I take away three lessons from this past year and hope that we can chisel away at their underlying root cause in the hopes of repairing our broken political system. For me, it all starts upstream. The selection process is putting too many subpar candidates and undeserving people into office. So, all my suggestions impact the selection process. I have faith that if we can put the right people in office, they can at least try to work together versus pandering towards extreme members of a political base.

Trying a new format for my weekly posts going forward. Aiming to make the process faster and focus on three aspects of my person I feel are most important. The mind, mental stimulus and intellectual growth and contributions. The body, physical endeavors and growth. The soul, social activities and human interactions that expand perspective and hopefully bring inner growth.

What an eventful week. We hosted another party, this time our BandY Chili Cook Off party. I was so pleased with the number of entrants, varieties and energy of the contest. The weather could not have been better or the interests. Looking forward to next year where we have big surprise plans for it.

Small moves. Sometimes they are everything. A million of them come together to paint the full picture. This week I had to remember that small moves are perhaps the most important and require patience to realize their significance. From running to project planning to everything in between; it’s all about the baby steps. For example, to help make positive change in my neighborhood I am gong to run for a position on the HOA Board and help deliver measurable growth.

If last week was busy, go, go, go. This week was definitely chillax. I felt older than ever but that is thanks to the increased training load. The fall weather is starting to creep in and we’re starting to get the decorations and planning in order. Fall is by far our favorite time of year. Living in Georgia, it is the relief you earn after suffering through the brutal summer heat and humidity.

New Apple product launches. Probably the smoothest iPhone pickup I have ever had. No waking up at night and just walked in at lunch to random store and grabbed two. Everyone can relax, the lack of a headphone jack is not a deal breaker. Battery life is good enough you will rarely notice. Besides, more and more people are using bluetooth headphones. Got to attend Music Midtown 2016.
